CREATE MAP

Creating an arena for The Bridge is a streamlined process thanks to the GUI-based setup wizard.

Steps to create a map:

  1. Build Your Arena: First, build the physical arena in any world on your server.

  2. Start the Wizard: Go to the world where your arena is located and run the command: /bridge setmap <mapName> This will create a new map file (or open an existing one for editing) and bring up the setup menu.

  3. Use the Setup Menu: The GUI menu will show you all the points and regions you need to define. Clicking an option (e.g., "Red Base Area") will give you a "Selection Wand" (a blaze rod).

  4. Define the Zones:

    • For Areas (like bases, portals, bridge):

      • Left-Click a block to mark the first corner of the area.

      • Right-Click another block to mark the second corner.

    • For Single Points (like spawns):

      • Right-Click the block where you want to set the point. Your exact location and direction will be saved.

  5. Complete All Zones: You must define every option in the menu for the map to be considered "complete" and usable in games. The required zones are:

    • Red/Blue Base (Area)

    • Red/Blue Portal (Scoring Area)

    • Bridge (Building Area)

    • Red/Blue Cage Region (Area to be cleared when cages open)

    • Red/Blue Cage Spawn (Exact point where the player spawns)

    • Red/Blue Respawn (Point where the player respawns after death)

Once saved, the map will be available for matches. Map files are stored in /plugins/TheBridge/maps/.
